I wonder why people say “thanks in advance.” I get that they’re trying to be polite, and to thank someone who has not yet been able to help them or do something for them. Any time I see courtesy on the Internet, I consider it a good thing. Still…<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
It almost sounds as though they’re “paying” their thank you in advance. And then, what happens if the help is not forthcoming? Does the polite person revoke his thanks? It’s not exactly a monetary transaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
